Lake Garda and children are the perfect match! Lake Garda offers many attractions, including nature, spas, and amusement parks. It’s the perfect destination for a peaceful vacation with children or for taking advantage of beautiful days for a day trip.

Undoubtedly, thinking about Lake Garda brings to mind the largest amusement parks in the area. Who hasn’t heard of Gardaland or Movieland? Here you can experience thrilling adventures or meet beloved cartoon characters cherished by your children. Even in the cooler season, you can enjoy unforgettable days on the shores of Lake Garda.

If you prefer to relax in the warm waters of a spa while it’s cold outside, you can’t miss the entrance to the thermal baths. If many think that spas and children don’t go well together, perhaps they have never been to Aquardens in Valpolicella, not far from the eastern cost of Lake Garda.

In this area you can also find several museums with different themes that will not disappoint you or the little ones.

Today, we want to give you some suggestions for experiences to enjoy on Lake Garda with children, especially during less crowded periods.

Parks for children on Lake Garda

We have already talked about the well-known amusement parks Gardaland and Movieland Park in various articles, although these places don’t need too much praise. Here, we  prefer to present smaller but equally beautiful realities.

Rimbalzello Adventure

If you come to Lake Garda with your children, you can’t miss Rimbalzello Adventure in Barbara di Salò. It’s an adventure park that offers five different itineraries ,capable of entertaining both adults and children by ascending up to 15 meters, walking on Tibetan bridges and logs, and climbing on vines and steel ropes.

The various paths vary in difficulty, and you will undoubtedly find the one most suitable for you. Children from 3 years old are welcome. Specifically for the little ones (3-6 years old), a sensory path has been created to allow them to experience and explore nature.

Parco Giardino Sigurtà

The Parco Giardino Sigurtà is located in Valeggio sul Mincio and covers an area of about 60 hectares. Here, not far from Lake Garda, you can admire numerous flower varieties with your children or enjoy participating in educational workshops. In this case as well, there are different proposals tailored to the children’s ages.

Parco Natura Viva

The Parco Natura Viva, located in Bussolengo, is perfect for a day of family and nature. It’s a park with beautiful gardens where you can discover over 200 species of animals. If you want to fully immerse in the wild atmosphere of this place, don’t forget to take the Safari by car: you can use your car or rent one on-site for this purpose.

Spas with children: Lake Garda never disappoints

What parents haven’t dreamed of recharging their energies amid thermal pools and heated swimming areas? On Lake Garda you can turn this drem into reality!

Various spas in the area have organized services and designated areas suitable for hosting children, allowing parents to enjoy a day of relaxation.

Aquardens Thermal Park

In the heart of Valpolicella, between Verona and the shores of Lake Garda, you’ll find the Aquardens Thermal Park. Children’s entry is allowed only when accompanied. The facility  has pools of varying depths accessible even to the little ones, always respecting the recommended times for immersion in hot water. Your children can have fun amidst waterfalls, lagoons, and caves. Specifically for the youngest, there are thermal pools named “Coccola” and “Abbraccio” (35° and 36°), with depths ranging from 50 to 61 cm.  The Coccola pool, in particular, features slides and a mini club service and it’s available even in the winter months.

Aquaria Thermal Spa

In Sirmione, on Lake Garda, you’ll find the renowned Aquaria Thermal Spa. Within the Terme di Sirmione facilities, some spaces are dedicated to children, with features such as playrooms and child-friendly stations for inhalation treatments. At Aquaria, specifically, entry is allowed for children starting from two and a half years old, and when accompanied by their parents, they can splash around in the wonderful Infinity Pool, a large overflow pool overlooking the lake. 

Museums suitable for children

Museo della Carta 

The Museo della Carta is located in Toscolano Maderno on the western shore of Lake Garda. If you want to spend a day immersed in nature and culture, you can take a stroll in this town and then visit the museum that explains how paper was traditionally made.

Children’s Museum

The Children’s Museum is an interactive museum entirely dedicated to children from 0 to 12 years old. It’s located in Verona, not far from Lake Garda, and it allows young visitors to have a STEAM-themed experience (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics). Here, learning transforms into interaction, involving the whole family. Adults and children can explore museum’s contents and various exhibits together, creating a unique experience.
